When Reggie Simpson goes to work, she never knows what the day will bring. As a School Outreach Instructor with Water First, she is ready to inspire and to be inspired as she brings hands-on water science to Indigenous youth in the classroom and beyond! 

Reggie sees the difference that introducing Water First programs to Indigenous youth can make. She says, “By bringing hands-on STEM programming into First Nations communities, we’re creating opportunities for students to see themselves reflected in science while honouring the knowledge and traditions that have cared for these lands and waters since time immemorial.”

Indigenous communities across Canada are disproportionately impacted by the effects of climate change, as well as issues that result in long- and short-term water advisories.

One way to help address these challenges is through educational programming that inspires a love of science. Programs that open the door to career pathways in clean water and environmental leadership.
