It may sound like a bold statement, given what you’ve heard in the news about drinking water challenges in First Nations communities. But along with First Nations partners, we’ve developed a solution for some pressing drinking water challenges.
And there are now seven communities on Manitoulin Island with trained, skilled and certified young Indigenous adults in the field of water science to prove it.
But it’s been over a year since that first group of interns graduated. We’ve spent that time building relationships and trust with new communities that want to partner with us. We’ve revisited our curriculum and teaching approach. We’ve raised money from foundations, individuals and corporations. We have commitments from community partners.
The only thing preventing us from getting started is money.
We need your help to work with more people in more communities. Please donate now.
